Introduction

Many like to do sex, and erotic/sex bussiness has existed in human civilization for ages. But in reality, the society still has lots of discriminations and misunderstandings of the workers in erotic/sex bussiness, and there are many problems and difficulties existed in this industry.

In this event, a kyabakura girl from Taiwan, and a Korean queer sex worker activist will introduce the erotic/sex industry in their country, and also their social actions of fighting against the descriminations. Also, friends from Japan and HongKong will also share the current situation in their society and their actions (by providing information, not in person.)

If you have ever worked in erotic/sex industry, knows something about this industry, or you care about this issue, please come and chat! Asia erotic/sex workers gathering! No gender/sexuality/country limitation.

Topics to be discussed in this event

INTRODUCTION

Are you an erotic/sex worker? In which country do you work? How long have you do this work? At what kind of company do you work? What kinds of services do you provide? What is your basic workflows? How about your working time and payment? How about the process of negotiating the price? Is everything clear and fair? Do you participate in any related social movement (eg. NGOs)? What are the goals of you/your groups? What methods do you use to approach these goals?

INTRODUCTION ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY

Can you briefly introduce the overview of erotic/sex industry in your country? Is erotic/sex industry legal in your country? Is there any law that is harmful for erotic/sex workers? In your country, when someone want to enter this industry, does he/she need to go to the agency first? If yes, how much is the commission? What do they do for the company? what do they do for the workers? Can you list some NGOs or groups that focus on this issue in your country? Is there any groups focus on the sex need of the disables in your country? Do you have sex/erotic labor union in your country?

WORKING CONDITION

Can you get job training when you enter this industry? If so, what kind of training did you receive? If not, what kind of training is needed? What are the risks and difficulties you face in your work? How about other erotic/sex workers risks and difficulties as you know? Have you ever worked but didn’t get paid? How does it happen? Who causes this problem? How did you deal with it? Is there any unreasonable rules you considered problematic?

PERSONAL/IDENTITY

Is there any enjoyable part of doing your work? How do you introduce your work to friends? or maybe you keep secret? Do you have regular health checkups (If needed)? How do you deal with the “emotional labor” during/after work?

DISCRIMINATION

How will you describe the general public attitude toward this industry in your country? What kind of words, question or actions make you feel angry? Do you have any discriminated experience? Do you have any experience about being respected and treated equally? How about media’s attitude in your country? What words they use to describe erotic/sex worker?
